responsibilities: A respiratory therapist is someone who cares for patients that have trouble breathing; for example, from a chronic respiratory disease, such as asthma or emphysema. They also provide emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, stroke, drowning, or shock.

Median pay (hourly): 27.78 USD (2015)

 education required: Respiratory Therapist Education. Respiratory therapists complete either 2-year associate's degree or 4-year bachelor's degree programs. Upon graduation, you can choose to sit for a national exam to become a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
